We consider the western region of Côte d'Ivoire as a potential great place for adventure travel activities such as trekking, climbing ans others, in Côte d'Ivoire. We present pictures from the Montagnes District (Mountain District), one of the 14 districts of Côte d'Ivoire.

The Mountain District is located in the west of the country and borders Guinea. There are two ecoregions, the Guinean mountain forest on the heights and the Sudanese western savannah on the plain. It includes the region of Guémon, Cavally and Tonkpi with the main cities: Man, Danané, Duekoué, Guiglo, Biankouma, Bangolo, Toulépleu. Man being the chief town.

Photos of the Month: Castles in Gondar, Ethiopia

Ethiopia has built its touristic reputation thanks to its impressive historical and cultural heritage. A friend of ours sent us pictures from a journey to the city of Gondar. Situated in the Semien Gondar Zone of the Amhara Region, Gondar is north of Tana Lake on the Lesser Angereb River and southwest of the Simien Mountains. Gondar is famously known to holds the remains of several royal castles, including those in Fasil Ghebbi (the Royal Enclosure). It's rightly considered as the "Camelot of Africa".

As we're great fans of Ancient Egypt, we can't wait the opening of a future great attraction for any adventure traveler going to Egypt. The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), is a actually planned museum of artifacts of ancient Egypt. Described as the largest archaeological museum in the world for the Egyptian civilization, the museum is under construction and is scheduled to open in 2020, exhibiting the full Tutankhamun collection with many pieces to be displayed for the first time. The museum is sited on 50 hectares of land approximately two km from the Giza pyramids and is part of a new master plan for the plateau.

Video: Discovering Abydos, Egypt

There's a great occasion to discover an Ancient Egypt city named Abydos in Egypt, during an archaeological excursion. Abydos is one of the oldest cities of ancient Egypt, and also of the eighth nome in Upper Egypt. It is located about 11 km west of the Nile, near the modern Egyptian towns of el-'Araba el Madfuna and al-Balyana.

Video: Discovering Swakopmund, Namibia

Swakopmund is a beach resort on the coast of western Namibia, 352 km west of the Namibian capital Windhoek via the B2 main road. It is the capital of the Erongo administrative district. The city is situated in the Namib Desert and is the fourth largest city in Namibia by population. The architecture of this beach resort is an example of German colonial architecture. It was founded in 1892 as the main harbour for German South West Africa, and a small part of its population is still German-speaking today.
