Let's have a journey in a desertic place in Morocco. Many adventure travelers fans of deserts are going to discover a city  situated in the Sahara Desert, Ouarzazate, we consider as one of the most adventurous cities in Morocco. Ouarzazate is nicknamed The door of the desert and is situated in Drâa-Tafilalet region of south-central Morocco. Ouarzazate is at an elevation of 1,160 m in the middle of a bare plateau south of the High Atlas Mountains. To the south of the town is the desert.

Video: Climbing Mount Toubkal in Winter, Morocco

Toubkal is a mountain peak in southwestern Morocco, located in the Toubkal National Park. At 4,167 m, it is the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains, Morocco, North Africa and the Arab World. Located 63 km south of the city of Marrakesh, and visible from it, Toubkal is an ultra prominent peak, the highest for over 2,000 km. For climbers it is "the most popular mountain objective in the Atlas mountains".

Camel Trek in Morocco

Riding through Morocco on camel ? Why not ? This is an original way to discover Sahara Desert in Morocco. Many adventure travelers has ridden through Morocco on camels. They've looked like as if they were in the Indiana Jones movies. They also consider these experiences as an exciting way to discover Morocco's nature, especially Sahara desert in southern Morocco and the marvellous Atlas Mountains. They've also used to sleep in desert tents with berbers. What an so adventurous way to travel and sleep in Morocco, instead of always going to hotels.

Adventurers should hop on a camel back for any trip through the golden Sahara sand dunes at Erg Chebbi, near Merzouga. Spend the night in a desert tent, under the incredibly starred sky. The Sahara is also accessible near the town of Zagora; it's easier to get to from Marrakech but doesn't have the imposing dunes of Erg Chebbi. Somewhat less easy to reach but therefor also less crowded are the dunes of Erg Chigaga near M'hamid. We consider this is a great Morocco experience !

We highly consider Morocco as a major adventure travels destination in Africa. This country, we visited for the first time in 2008, is reputated by being a link between Africa, Europe and the Middle East. We were also so amazed by its dizzing strong and diverse culture and its welcoming people. Morocco also has adopted modernity, with keeping its tradditions. We were so happy to taste its legendary cuisine.

Morocco offers an ideal place for any adventure travelers with its diverse landscape, from the Sahara desert and dunes to the High Atlas, the Rif and Saharan oases. We advise adventure travelers to enjoy outdoor activities in these marvellous places in Morocco.
