We consider the western region of Côte d'Ivoire as a potential great place for adventure travel activities such as trekking, climbing ans others, in Côte d'Ivoire. We present pictures from the Montagnes District (Mountain District), one of the 14 districts of Côte d'Ivoire.
The Mountain District is located in the west of the country and borders Guinea. There are two ecoregions, the Guinean mountain forest on the heights and the Sudanese western savannah on the plain. It includes the region of Guémon, Cavally and Tonkpi with the main cities: Man, Danané, Duekoué, Guiglo, Biankouma, Bangolo, Toulépleu. Man being the chief town.
Ethiopia has built its touristic reputation thanks to its impressive historical and cultural heritage. A friend of ours sent us pictures from a journey to the city of Gondar. Situated in the Semien Gondar Zone of the Amhara Region, Gondar is north of Tana Lake on the Lesser Angereb River and southwest of the Simien Mountains. Gondar is famously known to holds the remains of several royal castles, including those in Fasil Ghebbi (the Royal Enclosure). It's rightly considered as the "Camelot of Africa".
As we're great fans of Ancient Egypt, we can't wait the opening of a future great attraction for any adventure traveler going to Egypt. The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), is a actually planned museum of artifacts of ancient Egypt. Described as the largest archaeological museum in the world for the Egyptian civilization, the museum is under construction and is scheduled to open in 2020, exhibiting the full Tutankhamun collection with many pieces to be displayed for the first time. The museum is sited on 50 hectares of land approximately two km from the Giza pyramids and is part of a new master plan for the plateau.
